DOMAIN: INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL
The health capabilities are organized into two domains. Internal capabilities correspond to individuals,
external capabilities correspond to collectives and societies.
TYPE: FUNCTIONING AND AGENCY
Capabilities are comprised of health functioning, i.e., the health outcome of a given action to maintain or improve health, and health agency, i.e., the ability to achieve health goals and act as an agent of your own health. Each health capability can be categorized in terms of health functioning and health agency. Some health capabilities can be further separated into multiple distinct functionings and agencies, which are all essential/instrumental to the relevant capability.
DEFINITION
We provide an overall definition of what each health capability means, why it matters, what it entails and how to measure, document and promote it.
