PEDAGOGY

Our pedagogy is aligned with how we work and our mission and values.

We seek to create a welcoming, inclusive and diverse environment in which all people feel valued, cared about, believed in, and a sense of belonging. We set high expectations and standards for mentees, trainees, supervisees and students and articulate core competencies and core values.

In teaching, our core competencies include critical thinking, knowledge, creativity, oral and written communication, and collaboration. Our core values include respect, kindness, collaboration, listening, space, support, preparation, ownership of own and others’ success, presentism, engagement, growth mindset, and equity. We support students in pursuing their own interests through individual projects with individualized supervision and coaching.

Through our teaching, mentorship, coaching, advising, supervision and training, and through relationship, we aim to provide all with the feedback and guidance on practice to meet challenges and shared goals.

Developing one’s capabilities and reaching one’s potential for oneself and for society is our focus; it is a journey requiring strong and positive mentorship, bi-directional teamwork and a commitment to individual and societal flourishing.
